A GUIDE TO JANUARY SALES

Dear lovelies,

Happy 2019! Sorry for my neglect of this little online space. I have no real excuse for you - all I can say is the end of 2018 was pretty exhausting, so perhaps a bit of down time is what I needed. A complete 2018 roundup along with my hopes for this new year will be up, belatedly, but up nonetheless, over the next couple of weeks.

As we all know, its sale season, which is the perfect time to snap up some bargains if you haven't been completely crippled by all the spending of the festive period. So, I thought I'd put together a little 'Guide to January Sale Shopping', with a couple of points on what I like to purchase in these sales, and what usually has the best discounts.

The first product category I find is often heavily discounted in the January sales is party wear. Of course, we have just been through party season, hence the discounts, but because of this, I find this is precisely the best time to get some party dresses. I find that I am always in need of a nice dress for evening functions that pop up (admittedly, occasionally #grannyalert) throughout the year, and then normally find myself frantically searching for a dress to wear and having to fork out full price for such. Therefore, it's far better to find some party dresses in the sales and bank them for when such occasions pop up. Incidentally, Quiz currently also have a nice selection of men's shirts on sale, so if any of you are hoping to get smart, party wear appropriate items for the man in your life, now is the time for that too!

Another category that is good to go for in the January sales is designer goods. This time of year all luxury websites have on huge sales, so if you have had your eye on a particular piece for some time, now is the time to snap it up! I find that shoes and RTW tend to be the most heavily discounted items, bag discounts are rarer and are usually a lower percentage, but you can still find some bargains on bags on websites like Farfetch and Mytheresa. If you are an avid sale shopper, then the best place to find designer bargains is in-store. The Harrods Sale is usually particularly fruitful, (and ends this Sunday!) so it's definitely worth popping into the store and having a browse (particularly around shoe heaven). I may or may not be treating myself to a rather exciting designer buy - stay tuned to see what it is!

Finally, random for my blog, but great sales to browse are those on flights! Sites such as Ryanair, Easyjet and British Airways often do great discounted flights, particularly to European cities, so, if you are feeling the January blues particularly strongly and need something to look forward to, now is the best time to book that city break getaway, a little pick me up to treat yourself to in the coming months.

And thats all for today! What do you normally find are the best buys in the January sale? Let me know in the comments below! As I say, I'll be back with a couple more posts soon, please bear with me! I hope you are all keeping well and speak soon.

Until next time,
Bisous <3
